This project focuses on the Lower, Middle, and Upper Chesapeake Bay ecosystems, using the foodwebs data set in the ‘igraphdata’ R package. Our research is focused on identifying differences and similarities between the three regions of Chesapeake Bay. We look to identify organisms that are key to the energy transfer within each ecosystem, as well as organisms that are more separate and less affected by the energy cycle. Additionally, we explore the communities in each part of the bay, and use the Fast Greedy community detection algorithm to understand and detect communities in the different parts of the bay.
